Director Priyadarshan-Lissy's Marriage to End in Divorce

Director Priyadarshan and actress Lissy's marriage is finally coming to an end. They have filed for the divorce in a Chennai family court on Monday, 1 December.

The news has been formally announced by Lissy that their 24-year relationship will end with divorce.

In a press release, she said, "It is with profound sadness that I am announcing that myself and Sri Priyadarshan have decided to get separated after 24 years of marriage. I have filed for divorce today in Chennai family court. Both our children and close friends are aware of this decision. As you can imagine it is a very difficult period in our lives and I request all of you to respect our privacy."

Earlier this year, there were rumors of their break up but the timely intervention of Kamal Haasan and Mohan Lal saved their relationship. Later, the couple claimed that they have sorted out their differences and back together with a bang. A few common friends of the couple were behind their strained relationship, Priyadarshan and Lissy had claimed back then.

However, the attempts of their good friends to save their marriage have now failed with the couple approaching the family court for the divorce.

Priyadarshan and Lissy, after falling in love, had married the actress on 13, December 1990. In fact, she converted to the Hinduism and changed her name to Lakshmi to marry the director. Their children daughter Kalyani and son Siddharth are now studying in abroad.
