The divorce case of actors Dileep and Manju Warrier have reached a new stage as the couple decided to submit a joint petition. Meanwhile, Dileep will withdraw his previous divorce petition, which was submitted at the Ernakulam Family Court.

The hearing of Dileep's petition was put on the table on 23 July, but both the actors failed to appear before the court and it is now postponed to 16 August.

Earlier, Dileep went ahead with the divorce petition when both the parties failed to come to a conclusion regarding the properties. Their lawyers have reached a conclusion regarding this outside the court and is why the actors filed a joint petition.

Now, divorce procedures have become easier for both and they will be granted a divorce within six months. However, the court will send both Dileep and Manju for mandatory counseling sessions.

The rumours of Manju-Dileep divorce had been making the rounds ever since the actress made her reappearance with various dance performances.

Dileep later put an end to these rumours, when he filed a petition seeking divorce. He had also filed a petition seeking in-camera trial and also restraining the media from publishing the contents of the original petition. There were also reports of Manju's decision to return properties that were made jointly by them during their 14 years of marriage.

Manju was at the peak of her career when she got married to Dileep in 1998. She began her acting career in 1995 and was noticed for her films like "Sallapam", "Summer in Bethlehem, "Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu", "Ee Puzhayum Kadannu", "Aaram Thamburan", "Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranaykalathu" and "Thooval Kottaram" among others. In this short span of four years, she managed to win a National Film Award- Special Jury Award for her performance in "Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu", Kerala State Award for the film "Ee Puzhayum Kadannu" and two Filmfare awards. Post their marriage, she stopped acting in films and focused only on her family life.

However, she made a sensational comeback to the film industry after 14 years with the movie, "How Old Are you?"(2014) directed by Rosshan Anddrews. Initially, there were rumours that the film was based on Manju's real life, but both the director and the actress rubbished the rumours.

Meanwhile, Dileep is waiting for the release of his film "Avatharam" with veteran director Joshiy. The film is set to release on 1 August.
