Alana Thompson, popularly known as Honey Boo Boo, has been accused of slapping her mother, Mama June, during the filming of "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon", sparking concerns that the toddler has gone from being sassy to outright rude.

Christy O'Shoney of the Salon, who was at the taping of "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" wrote in the publication that the show was edited a lot to show Honey Boo Boo in positive light.
Reportedly, Honey Boo Boo physically struck her mother at one point, and this was one time that the host lost his cool with the toddler.

"NEVER hit your mother!" he reportedly said in a voice that was serious, but with a hint of a joke. O'Shoney wrote that most of the studio audience erupted in applause when Fallon rebuked Honey Boo Boo.

O'Shoney also noted that the final telecast left out a lot of uncomfortable moments between Mama June and Honey Boo Boo, and throughout the broadcast, the mother was either answering questions of on behalf of Honey Boo Boo, or she was mumbling answers to her daughter.

Honey Boo Boo who was present on "The Tonight Show" set was visibly troubled - disrespectful, defiant, entitled, O'Shoney wrote, adding that with a bit of editing, "disrespectful" became "precocious," "defiant" became "sassy," and "entitled" became "confident."

However, these claims have now been refuted by another audience member, who told HollywoodLife that a majority of what happened was filmed as it is.

"I was there — 95% of what actually happened was filmed and was what you saw on the air," the audience member said. "She did not hit Mama June in a violent way, she simply shooed her mother away, maybe tapped her leg, she was just being a typical 8-year-old. It's totally exaggerated," the source explains. "Jimmy did tell her not to hit her mom, but he did it in a comedic way and the audience laughed with him."

"Alanna is obviously a sassy little 8-year-old, she was just being herself," the witness continued.

TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is currently on its fourth season and the premiere had the family organizing a tropical-themed surprise party for Mama June.
