Update: 8.45 p.m.-- Deepika Padukone is not replacing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the face of Mumbai's top property developers. A spokesperson for Lodha group confirmed the news to IBTimes India and said that the group enjoys a healthy, longstanding relationship with Aishwarya.
"Lodha Group enjoys a healthy, longstanding relationship with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and she continues to be the esteemed brand ambassador for our premium South Mumbai development - The Park at Worli," an official spokesperson said.
It is no doubt that Deepika Padukone is the most successful Bollywood actress of recent times. Deepika has been on a success streak with almost eight back-to-back hits, and now she is making her Hollywood debut.
But that is not all, Deepika is also making a mark in the advertising field by bagging big projects. According to a report, the "Bajirao Mastani" actress has replaced one of the most beautiful women as the face of Mumbai's top property developer brand.
Deepika has stepped into Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's shoes to become the face of Mumbai's top property developers, Lodha Group. Deepika will be the face of the brand's new property situated off the Mumbai-Pune highway, Spotboye.com reports.
The "Bajirao Mastani" actress has already shot for a campaign that will reportedly be unveiled in March. Until now, Aishwarya Rai had endorsed the brand and even bought a 4-bedroom apartment for more than Rs 5 crore in 2013. But according to Spotboye, the company is now looking for a fresh face that "redefines beauty much like Deepika herself."
"Aishwarya's contract is drawing to a close. We have firmly decided that Deepika will step into her shoes thereafter," an insider from Lodha Group on condition of anonymity, told Spotboye.
Nevertheless, Aishwarya still has a long list of endorsement deals, which includes international brands as well. She has been endorsing Swiss luxury watch brand Longines and L'Oreal Paris for several years. In 2012, she replaced Sushmita Sen as the brand ambassador of the jewellery group Kalyan Jewellers and later was roped in along with her husband Abhishek Bachchan to endorse Prestige's kitchen appliances.
