Uttar Pradesh, Oct 25 (ANI): Hundreds of Hindu devotees took holy dip in River Yamuna and its tributaries in Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Bhai Dooj on Saturday. People thronged banks of Yamuna River in Varanasi and women were seen performing rituals and praying to the holy river. The festival is celebrated with much gaiety and enthusiasm across the country. Sisters keep fast for their brothers on this auspicious occasion. This festival comes during the holy month of Kartik. During this festival, sisters pray to god for long life and well-being of their brothers. In turn, brothers take a vow to protect their sisters always.
