Patna / New Delhi / Bhopal, Nov 9 (ANI): Devotees across India offered special prayers, exchanged greetings and performed traditional rituals as they got together with great zeal to celebrate the Sun God festival of 'Chhath'. The three-day long festival of 'Chhath,' dedicated to the Sun God, began on Friday with thousands of devotees observing fasts and swarming to the banks of the holy rivers. The 'Chhath', celebrated on the sixth and seventh day after Diwali, is significant for married women who observe a three-day fast and stand in waist- deep river waters, and present religious offerings to the Sun God.
