New Delhi/ Ludhiana, Feb 07 (ANI): The Delhi cabinet approved the set up of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the 1984 anti-Sikh riots within a time frame of one year, following the suggestion by national capital government to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung. Police officers from outside Delhi would be responsible for conducting an inquiry in the case. AAP leader Sanjay Singh said this step would ensure a speedy and unbiased investigation in the case and would help in punishing the people involved in abetting the deadly riots. Human rights activist HS Phoolka, welcomed the action recommended by the Delhi government.
