A fire broke out at the central police organisations' building inside the Central Government Offices (CGO) complex in Delhi on Tuesday, and several important documents at the Border Security Force's (BSF) office were reportedly destroyed.

The CGO complex houses several offices of intelligence agencies and security services, including the  headquarters of CRPF, ITBP, BSF and CISF. Some sensitive government offices are also located on the complex.

The fire broke out in the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarter office at 12.17 pm, and officials took about 45 minutes to put out the flames, during which many documents were destroyed, according to IANS.

No one was injured in the fire, officials said.

Several computers were destroyed as the fire engulfed the BSF documentation section, as well as the offices of air wing and communications department of the BSF.

"No one was injured in the incident after the fire broke out in an air conditioner on the first floor of the building," a BSF official told IANS.

Some Delhi-based journalists tweeted photos of the fire, which showed thick smoke coming out of windows.

In July, a fire had broken out at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters in the CGO complex.
