Deepika Padukone has been shooting for her upcoming movie Padmavati that is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. However, it looks like shooting for the Bhansali film will have an interruption owing to the actress' upcoming Hollywood film XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.
XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, starring Vin Diesel, is slated to be released on January 20 next year. Vin reportedly wants Deepika to accompany him for the worldwide promotions of the movie and that might delay the shooting of Padmavati.
Bhansali is one such director who prefers his stars to be fully into the character of his film until the shooting ends. But Deepika cannot afford to miss the promotions of her debut Hollywood film and that will apparently force Bhansali to compromise on his rule.
Deepika will be seen playing the titular role in the historic film that also features Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. Shahid will play the character of Rani Padmavati's husband Rana Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer will be seen as Alauddin Khilji.
Deepika and Ranveer had collaborated with Bhansali for the film Bajirao Mastani that had turned out to be a blockbuster. Now, Shahid also joined the team and this is the first time that Shahid and Deepika will share screen space. The movie Padmavati will reportedly have some steamy scenes between the two stars.
