Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmavati" has triggered a major buzz, courtesy, its lead cast — Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

While fans are thrilled that their favourite pair is back to charm them, what many may not know is that Deepika may not have signed the film at all. A source close to the actress told the Times of India that she is yet to sign on the dotted line and the fee hasn't been discussed yet.

What else is happening with the film?

Even though this is Ranveer and Deepika's third film together — after "Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela" and "Bajirao Mastani" — they do not have any scenes together.

From what has been reported so far, the first schedule requires an actor who can play Deepika's husband. Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Fawad Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal are some of the stars in the running for the part.

However, it is being said that Fawad may make the cut because he has the kind of dates Sanjay wants from his actors. "Bhansali wants 200 days from all his lead actors, including Ranveer Singh (plays Alauddin Khilji) and Deepika (Padmavati). Fawad has those days to spare. In between, he has Karan Johar's production, but it should not be a problem as KJo and Bhansali share a good equation. So they will work it out. It's too big an offer for Fawad to pass up," DNA reported.

Apparently, a TV actor was being considered for the role, but Deepika put her foot down about it. She reportedly didn't want to work with someone from the small screen.

In other news, Deepika's next release is Vin Diesel's "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage," which arrives in theatres on Jan. 20, 2017.
