Deepika Padukone recently backed out of a London tour with Ranbir Kapoor for "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" on the advice of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

While rumours are doing the rounds that Deepika backed out of the tour with Ranbir to avoid a face-off with Katrina Kaif, who is presently in London, the reason seems to be King Khan.

Deepika had already committed to Ayan Mukerjee for "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" promotion tour but had to back out on Shah Rukh Khan's insistence, reported Times of India.

Shah Rukh wanted Deepika to devote her time for the ambitious film, "Chennai Express."

Despite Deepika giving out strong reasons, she was made to understand that her priority lies with the "Chennai express" which is slated for release this Eid.

"She was clearly told that if she did not cooperate, they will not be able to release their film on Eid. She was also reminded about the leeway given to her in the past when she kept dividing her dates between Shetty's Chennai Express and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela," TOI quoted a source as saying.

Ranbir's tour plan was reportedly cancelled after Deepika backed out of the promotion.

"As of today, the tour stands cancelled. The whole idea was to have Deepika and Ranbir together," added the source.

"It was a professional tour. The plan was to take them to visit parts of the US, mainly focusing on areas with a high percentage of Indian diaspora. Other than that, England and a few other places were also on the itinerary."

With the current equation, it is no wonder Ayan and Karan Johar have been left fuming with SRK's 'over the top' act.
