Now the top-end variant T (O) of both Datsun Go and Go+ offer driver's airbag at a premium of ₹15,000. Apart from this, all other features -- body-coloured bumpers, Mobile Docking Station (MDS), front power windows, USB charger, central locking and speed-sensitive wipers -- of the high-end variant remain the same.

Under the hood, both Go and Go+ get 1.2-litre engines that can churn out a power of 67bhp and peak torque of 104Nm. It comes coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox and is tuned to deliver a fuel efficiency of 20.62km/l.

Datsun Go, the low cost offering from Nissan had failed the crash test last year, raising concerns about the safety of the model. The Global Safety body pointed out that Datsun Go is also unfit to accommodate airbags as the car's body shell structure is poor.

The Datsun GO and GO+ T (O) variants have been priced at ₹4.19 lakh and ₹4.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
