Proneeta Swargiary has won the fifth season of reality show "Dance India Dance".

The 22-year-old beat Nirmal Tamang and Sahil Adaniya to win the coveted "Sunheri Taqdeer Ki Topi" title.

Elated with the big win, Proneeta told Asian Age: "Winning this season is a dream come true. I had auditioned for season two, in which Punit was also a participant. He got selected but I didn't. I was dejected and spent the last few months training myself and auditioned again. Thankfully, my family has always been supportive. I had a tough competition from Ashish, but I am glad I won this."

Commenting on Proneeta's win, her mentor Punit said: "Right from the first day at the rehearsals, which was three-and-a-half months ago, I had seen potential winners in Proneeta and Ashish. I spoke to them separately and told them that they have a star quality. I was just hoping one of them wins and Proneeta did that and made me proud."

The dance reality show was judged by Gaiti Siddiqui, Punit Pathak and Mudassar Khan along with grand master Mithun Chakraborty.

Talking about her future plans, Proneeta mentioned that she wishes to work with top Bollywood actors and choreograph them.

The grand finale was graced by former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who attended the episode to promote her recently released film "Jazbaa".

Popular rapper Baadshah entertained the viewers with his upbeat numbers, while actress Sana Saeed, Gauahar Khan, Karanvir Bohra along with a few former DID contestants performed with the top five finalists.
