According to the synopsis of the episode, Carlo's attempt to programme Leonardo into becoming "one" with the Labyrinth leads him to slip into an alternate reality that could prove life-threatening.

Carlo injects Leonardo with a drug that makes him hallucinating about a life where he has been married to Lucrezia. Leonardo also has a son with her in this life.

Meanwhile, Riario tries his best to persuade Carlo and the Architect to have mercy on Leonardo. He says Leonardo would be more valuable to the Labyrinth alive than dead.

While Leonardo continues to be under the effect of hallucination, the Architect orders Carlo to inject him with a poisonous drug that will either convert Leonardo to the Labyrinth or kill him.

However, Riario somehow manages to save Leonardo from the clutches of Carlo and the Architect. At the end of the episode, Leonardo wakes up on the side of a road, having no clue of what has happened.

In the previous episode, titled "Modus Operandi", Leonardo accidentally came across a clue that led him to the core of the extremist secret society named the Labyrinth.

In order to get funds for building war machines, Leonardo decided to help Pope Sixtus. However, Zoroaster was not pleased with his decision and told Leonardo he would not be working for him anymore.

At the end of the episode, when Carlo realised Leonardo knew the truth behind the Labyrinth, he kidnapped him and took him to a hideout. Afterwards, Carlo tortured Leonardo till he started to lose consciousness and began hallucinating.
