The shocking death of Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde has raised suspicion among Maharashtra BJP leaders, who have demanded a CBI probe into the incident, Zee News reported.

Maharashtra BJP spokesperson Avadhut Wagh has said that Munde's car accident is a big conspiracy and might have been done by some people who are not happy with his and Narendra Modi's win, the website stated.

On his twitter page, Wagh tweeted that Munde's death is not an accident and also demanded an enquiry of the incident.

Munde is the brother-in-law of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan and was married to Mahajan's younger sister. After Mahajan's death, Munde was the guardian of the family. He was a big leader in Maharashtra and had a huge following.

On Tuesday morning, Munde was on his way to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, when he met with a road accident. An indica car, which jumped the traffic signal at Aurobindo Chowk, collided with Munde's car towards the passenger side where the BJP leader was sitting. He suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors tried to revive Munde, but he reportedly died of a cardiac arrest.

This is the second such mid-summer tragedy involving BJP leaders. Eight years ago, in May 2006, Mahajan died at an hospital few days after he was shot by his brother Pravin. Now, tragedy has struck the Munde-Mahajan family again with the demise of the Union Minister.

Meanwhile, the twitter is also buzzing with claims of conspiracy behind the union minister's death.
