New Delhi, Aug 6 (ANI): Congress leader Anand Sharma has said the ruling BJP government must explain why they are in a hurry to introduce the insurance amendment bill. The government was to table the Insurance Laws (Amendment) Bill in the upper house of the Parliament on Monday (August 04) but it was removed from the business list after they failed to gain cooperation from the opposition in passing the bill. The proposal, which requires the approval of both houses of the Parliament, would bring foreign investment worth up to $2 billion into the sector within a year of its implementation. Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, Sharma, who is also the deputy leader of opposition in the upper house, said the BJP government needs to be more patient regarding the controversial bill.
