Speculations were rife that one of Bollywood's most romantic couples, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt, were signed for "Aashiqui 3," but the makers or the actors had not confirmed the news. Sidharth has recently confirmed the reports and said that he will star in "Aashiqui 3" opposite rumoured girlfriend Alia.

"Yes, Alia and I are doing 'Aashiqui 3.' It's a great space and I hope people like us," Sidharth told DNA. "It's a great franchise to be a part of," the actor added. The Mohit Suri directorial will be the couple's third movie together, after "Student of the Year" and "Kapoor and Sons."

Earlier, director-producer Mahesh Bhatt had hinted that Alia and Sidharth had been approached for the project, but the duo had not signed the dotted lines by then. In fact, it had been reported that the "Shaandaar" actress denied the rumours assuring she had not been approached for the role.

Meanwhile, Sidharth has confirmed the reports and fans will now be eagerly waiting for this hot couple to appear on the silver screen again. As everybody who have watched the previous instalments of "Aashiqui" know that the actors showcase their singing talent in the franchise, so will Sidharth also sing in this flick?

Alia has already mesmerised with her voice earlier, but it will be for the first time that the handsome hunk will be seen singing. "The plan is to train and sing, so let's see," DNA quoted Sidharth as saying. The actor will also be seen playing a guitar in the film.

In the first part, Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal had created beautiful chemistry on-screen, while the second instalment featured Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur in an amazing love story. Will Alia and Sidharth manage to create the same magic with their characters in "Aashiqui 3"? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Sidharth is shooting for the sequel of "Bang Bang" alongside Jacqueline Fernandez. And, Alia will be seen next in Abhishek Chaubey's "Udta Punjab," Gauri Shinde's yet-to-be titled film and Karan Johar's "Badrinath Ki Dulhania."
