Contrary to some speculations, the makers of Shah Rukh Khan's Raees will not change the release date of the film. Raees will hit the screens on January 26 and will have a clash with Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil.

It was earlier reported that Raees release date may be pushed due to the protests by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena as it features Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. However, producer Ritesh Sidhwani rubbished the buzz.

"We are sticking to the release date we announced earlier for Raees. I don't think something like a ban has happened. The association has itself written to the government that people who have already made their films, who have completed their shooting, we should respect that. Let those movies release and whatever the government decides in the future, they will take a call on that," Sidhwani told Filmfare.

There are also rumours that Mahira has been dropped from Raees owing to the MNS protests. However, it is not confirmed yet. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, the SRK-starrer will have a box office face-off with Hrithik's Kaabil.

Both the films are much hyped. While Shah Rukh will be seen as a cruel bootlegger in Raees, Hrithik will play the character of a blind man in Kaabil.
