The wrestlers will be aiming for another dominating performance in the Commonwealth Games as they look to increase India's medals tally on the sixth day of this multisport event at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre on Tuesday.

Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar will spearhead India's challenge as he will be competing against Australia's Jayden Lawrence in the 74 kg category.

Sushil will be under pressure to repeat his 2010 Delhi CWG success, as the Haryana wrestler has changed his weight category. The London Olympics silver medallist is coming into the games after a long layoff from sport but he recently proved his mettle in the senior international wrestling tournament.

Amit Kumar, one of the youngsters in the squad, will also be in action against Mauritius' Guyliane Bandoo in the Round of 16. This is the first appearance for the 20-year-old in the CWG, but Sushil has high hopes from the youngster.

"I see my kind of attacking style in Amit Kumar Dahiya, the silver medallist in the World Cup," Sushil said. "He has shown a lot of promise in the international competitions. I see him as a bright prospect to take the Indian wrestling forward."

It will be difficult for India to match the medals tally they achieved in 2010 games, as Greco-Roman category has been dropped from Glasgow Games. In the last edition of the games, Indian wrestlers clinched seven medals (four gold, one silver and two bronze) in Greco-Roman.

"It's disappointing that Greco-Roman category is not there in Glasgow," Sushil said. "This clearly means that we are going to lose at least seven medals this time."

Apart from Sushil and Amit, Rajeev Tomar (125 kg) will also be in action on the first day of the wrestling event in the pre-quarterfinals.

A couple of women wrestlers will also be in action, as Jyoti will be facing Blessing Onyebuchi of Nigeria, while Vinesh will lock horns with Rosemary Nweke.
