New Delhi, Oct 15 (ANI): In another high profile chargesheet in the coal scam, the CBI has registered a case against Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, KM Birla. Aluminum maker Hindalco, which Mr Birla promotes, has also been named in the fresh FIR filed by the agency. According to reports, the FIR names Birla, Nalco, Hindalco and former coal secretary PC Parekh. The charges in the FIR reportedly pertain to alleged forgery and financial misrepresentation. The investigating agency is conducting raids at the Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata offices of Hindalco. The CBI is under pressure from the Supreme Court to hasten its investigation into how and why coal fields were allocated to private players without a transparent bidding process.
