Snapped in Pune, the Kite hatchback was seen wrapped up in camouflage. However, it was not difficult to figure out the model from the outline and other details like the rounded defogger of the vehicle. Expected to get a price tag around ₹4 lakh, Tata Kite is designed to compete with Maruti Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10 in India.

Tata Kite, the possible replacement of the company's fleet car Indica, has been in the news for quite some time now. Based on new Indica platform, Tata Kite's engine line-up is likely to include the company's new 1.05 litre three-cylinder common-rail diesel motor, which can churn out power of 64.1bhp and 14.27kgm of torque, and the all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine. For transmission, rumours suggest that five speed manual gearboxes could be included in the model. However, according to some speculations, an automated manual transmission (AMT) could also make it to the new hatchback.

As for the features, the previous spy shots have indicated body-coloured rear-view mirrors and diamond-cut eight-wheel alloy wheels.
