The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will not declare the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class 10 results on Monday, May 15. The council may take another 10 days to declare the results as the evaluation process is still underway.

The ICSE Class 10 exams were supposed to be held from February 27 to March 31 but were postponed due to the assembly elections in the five states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur. There were at least eight papers that clashed with the election dates in the five states. Those exams were conducted on a later date.

The ICSE exams were postponed by 10 days while the Indian School Certificate (ISC) exams were advanced by a week. The board exams were then held from March 10 to April 21.

"The evaluation work is still very much on even today... We will announce the exact date of results on the council's website a much in advance. We cannot give you the dates as of now. We are working on it. And once the evaluation work ends we will announce the result dates," Gerry Arathoon, CISCE chief executive and secretary, told Hindustan Times.

A total of 1,76,327 candidates registered for the ICSE examination. CISCE conducts the ICSE Class 10 and the ISC Class 12 examinations.
