Defending Indian Super League champions Chennaiyin FC are on facing exit from ISL 2016 in the league stages itself and Marco Materazzi remains one worried man. The South Indian football side have two more league games to go this season and they currently remain seventh in the ISL 2016 points table.
Chennaiyin now have to win both their remaining games in order to keep their semis hopes alive. On Saturday, they take on NorthEast United FC at the Marina Arena.
The Guwahati side have had a tragic season of sorts this time around. While they started their ISL 2016 campaign on a high note and also topped the table for some days, their slump in form thereafter absolutely took the sheen from them.
Currently, NorthEast United are sixth in the table with 14 points from 11 games. Mumbai City FC have already having qualified for the ISL 2016 semi finals and now, any three teams, except FC Goa, can join them in the knockouts phase. So close has been the competition this time around!
"As I always say the next game for me and my team is most important and most difficult," mentioned NorthEast United FC's experienced coach Nelo Vingada. "But it is more than that, it's very crucial for both teams. Even though Chennaiyin have played one more game than us, they still have a chance for the semi-finals.
"There is a chance for Kerala, Pune, NorthEast and Chennaiyin. Only Mumbai is safe and the other teams are in it. Regarding our last few games, we lost even when out performance was good."
Head to head record

Chennaiyin FC vs NorthEast United is scheduled to kick off at 7 pm IST (2.30 pm BST) on November 26.
