‘Chennai Express’ Box Office Collection: SRK Starrer Crosses £2 Million in UK; Amongst Top-5 Grossers of All Time

"Chennai Express" has achieved another milestone in overseas market. The romantic comedy has entered the list of top five all time grosser films in the UK.

The film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has grossed more than £2 million, approximately ₹21.07 crore from the UK.

"#ChennaiExpress crosses £ 2 million in UK today. Enters Top 5 grossers of all times list. Incidentally, *all* 5 films are SRK starrers!" trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Apparently, all the top 10 grosser films feature King Khan in the lead roles, except Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots".

"SRK is competing with himself in Overseas. Amongst the Top 10 highest grossers in UK, 9 [yes, 9] films are SRK starrers. WOW!" Adarsh added.

Shah Rukh's 2010 release "My Name is Khan" is the highest grosser followed by "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" in second spot and "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna" in third position.

"Veer Zaara" is at the fourth position, while "Chennai Express" lands at number fifth position.

SRK's other film in the list includes "Devdas", "Kal Ho Naa Ho", "Jab Tak Hai Jaan", and "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi".

Meanwhile, in the US circuits, the family entertainer has failed to break "3 Idiots" record although released in more screens.

The 14 days figures of both the films compared by Taran Adarsh shows that Aamir's film collected 4899142 USD from approximately 132 screens, while SRK's film grossed 4246858 USD from approximately 196 screens.
