Despite starting slow at the Indian box office, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's "Freaky Ali" has managed to collect a decent amount on its first day on Friday. The film witnessed only 10-15 per cent occupancy in the morning shows, but gradually picked up in the evening shows.

Released in over 1,200 screens, "Freaky Ali" collected Rs. 2.55 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#FreakyAli Fri ₹ 2.55 cr. India biz."

The Sohail Khan directorial was expected to open to a good start, considering that it boosts of a stellar cast. However, the film's clash at the box office with Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif starrer "Baar Baar Dekho" has affected its business.

Although it hasn't been a good start for "Freaky Ali," the film is expected to witness a growth in business over the long weekend due to Eid al-Adha and Onam holidays.

"Freaky Ali" is a rags-to-riches story and revolves around Nawazuddin's character. Since Nawazuddin and Amy Jackson's film received mixed reviews from the audience and critics alike, it has to heavily depend on word-of-mouth publicity.
