Xolo, subsidiary of the India smartphone maker, Lava International has unveiled the AMD powered tablet PC at the ongoing electronics trade fair International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2014 at Las Vegas, USA.

Commenting on the partnership with the American chipmaker, AMD, Lava International Ltd, Co-founder and Director, Mr Vishal Sehgal, said: "Providing superior product experience is at the core of XOLO's proposition to its target customers, hence joining hands with a technology leader like AMD makes perfect sense."

"With AMD's unique Accelerated Processing Unit (APU), featuring both a CPU & GPU on a single piece of silicon, we look forward to this strategic partnership to provide the best performance and graphics on mobile devices," he added.

The new Xolo Win is also the company's first Windows OS based tablet. It features 10.1-inch LED screen with 1366x768p resolutions and packs 1.0GHz AMD A4 Elite Mobility processor (Temash) paired with Radeon HD graphics, 2GB DDR3 RAM and 32GB flash memory. The tablet is said to be made available in the subcontinent by the end of January, however the price of the device is still under wraps.

Just hours before the launch of Xolo Win, company's Indian counterpart Micromax too unveiled a tablet dubbed as LapTab at CES 2014. It boasts of dual-boot options capable of running both Android mobile OS (v4.2 Jelly Bean) and the Microsoft's new Windows 8.1. The device is slated to hit Indian stores next month.
