Domestic manufacturer Celkon Mobiles has released a feature-rich budget smartphone Campus A63 into the Indian market.

The new phone is reportedly hitting the stores on Friday (9 August) for ₹4,999, and free back cover will be given to customers as an introductory offer.

Celkon Campus A63 sports a 4.0-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen with 480x800p resolutions and run on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean mobile OS.

Under the hood, it houses a dual-core processor with 1.2GHz CPU speed and it is powered by 1500 mAh battery. Campus A63 features 256MB RAM and 512MB memory which can be expanded up to 32GB through microSD card.

The new Celkon handset comes with 3.2-megapixel camera on the rear side and a 0.3-megapixel VGA camera on the front side.

Earlier this week, Indian market witnessed a slew of budget smartphone launches. Celkon rivals Lava released a couple of dual-core budget phones - Iris 402 (₹5,199) and Iris 356(₹4,199) - and Lava's subsidairy Xolo introduced A500s (₹6999), whereas the popular indian smartphone makers Micromax and Karbonn Mobiles as well as MNC Fly Mobiles launched A34 (₹4,399), A11+ (₹5,849), and F40+ (₹4,999) respectively.
