David Bowie fans began to lay floral tributes in London on 11 January, just hours after news broke confirming the singers death. Bowie died on 10 January, aged 69, after an 18-month battle with cancer. Fans and media started arriving at 23 Heddon Street in Londons West End, where a plaque commemorates the spot where Bowie posed for the cover of his iconic album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars. Steve Jobs, a controversial look at the late Apple co-founder that floundered at the box office despite warm reviews, took Golden Globes for Kate Winslet and Aaron Sorkin in the best supporting actress, drama and best screenplay categories respectively. An interview that Hollywood star Sean Penn conducted with Mexican Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman late last year helped Mexicos government catch the worlds most wanted drug lord, sources said on 9 January. Guzman, the infamous boss of the Sinaloa drug cartel, was arrested in northwest Mexico on 8 January, and sent back to the prison he broke out of in July through a mile-long tunnel that led straight into his cell.
