South Dinajpur, Aug 6 (ANI): A Bangladeshi national, allegedly a cattle smuggler, was killed by the BSF in South Dinajpur district of West Bengal. Raju Mandal, a resident of Jaipurhut district in Bangladesh, was killed on Tuesday at Mathurapure area of Indo-Bangladesh border in the district. The incident occurred when around 25-30 Bangladeshi smugglers, who entered India from a temporary fencing area, tried to cross over to India with more than 100 cattle. The BSF personnel tried stopping them, but were instead attacked. As a result, the BSF fired eight rounds of Pump Action Gun (PAG) which injured Mandal, who was declared dead at a hospital. After the incident, the BSF and three Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officers rushed to the spot and held a flag meeting, where the BGB accepted the deceased as a citizen of their country.
