"Castle" creator Alexi Hawley may be busy with the cast and crew of season 8, but he never forgets to keep his fans in the loop with updates about the show.

After attending the recently concluded ABC's Television Critics Association press tour party, the executive producer shared some exciting moments with his followers on Twitter.

While expressing his disappointment on the absence of Muppet, Hawley also shared his excitement about meeting "Quantico" actress Priyanka Chopra at the event.

"Sadly, there wasn't a Muppet to be seen. But I did meet @priyankachopra so I'm chalking tonight up as a big win," he wrote.

The "Castle" creator did not forget to share some thrilling information about season 8 to the viewers of the show. Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) will be promoted as a captain of New York City Police Department (NYPD) in the upcoming sequel.

"At the end of the day, what we were trying to do was shake up relationships. The show has been doing a great job with what's its been doing, but now we've been given an opportunity to really sort of add some energy into it," TV Line quoted Hawley.

Executive producer Terence Paul Winter shared some interesting about the character change for Stana Katic.

"What's exciting about that dynamic is that she's not going to be a traditional captain who is in the office. She's boots on the ground. She's still Beckett. She's going to be handling cases and she's going to be involved in the interrogation," he told Entertainment Weekly.

Hawley revealed that the new development in "Castle" will help them to add some spark in Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate's lives.

"The important thing to say about [Rick and Kate] is that the show has always been and will always be about their love affair. But we're looking to add some drama to it, some spark to it. We're going to have fun. It's going to be emotional at times, it will be romantic.... It will be everything," he said.

ABC will premiere "Castle" season 8 on Monday, 21 September, at 10pm.
