Bollywood's A-list couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will host the amfAR (American Foundation for AIDS research) gala dinner on 22 May at the 67th Cannes Film Festival.
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek are the brand ambassadors of amfAR. Every year an event "Cinema Against AIDS" is held at the international film festival, which Aishwarya Rai has been attending.
However, this year Abhishek will accompany his wife at the event. Not only that, the "Dhoom 3" actor will also host the gala dinner along with his wife, The Times of India reported.
The event will be held at hotel du Cap-Eden-Ro in France. Some of the Hollywood's biggest names from fashion, music, film and business industries including Kenneth Cole, Heidi Klum, Sharon Stone, John Travolta, Maria Cestone, Dennis Davidson, Christophe Navarre, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Kelly Preston and Lewis Hamilton will grace the event.
Cinema Against AIDS is a charitable fundraiser event, which was started in 1993. In the past two decades, the event has raised more than $100 million.
The event will start with Champagne and reception followed by live auction, fashion show, and performances by Robin Thicke, Lana del Ray and Aloe Blacc.
The live auction will include a trip to space with Leonardo DiCaprio, a private performance by legendary rock icons Duran Duran, a family portrait sitting with Annie Leibovitz, an opportunity to star in a short film by Karl Lagerfeld, and works from Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, and many others, according to the official website of amfAR.
Abhishek is currently busy shooting two upcoming films including "Happy New Year". The actor will fly down from Delhi on 21 May to attend the event, according to Pinkvilla.
Aishwarya Rai arrived in the French Riviera for the film festival last week, along with her daughter Aaradhya and mother Brinda Rai. The former Miss World will walk the red carpet as the brand ambassador of a cosmetic company on 20 and 21May.
