Canelo Alvarez is ready to defend his WBC middleweight title against British boxer Amir Khan at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 7. With few days remaining for the fight, Alvarez is going full tilt in training.

The fight has been highlighted as Khan's speed vs Alvarez's punching power. Khan is one of the most swift boxers inside the ring, and moves intelligently, which Alvarez needs to be careful about. Alvarez, on the other hand, is much more powerful, and depends on his brutal force to knock down opponents.

Khan and Alvarez come into this mega bout with impressive wins under their belt. Khan defeated Chris Algieri in May 2015, and has won his last five fights. Alvarez secured a win against Miguel Cotto in Nov. 2015. The Mexican has won his last four fights.

Despite such records, both the boxers are aware that the fight on May 7 will be one of their toughest bouts in recent times. Hence, they have been spending quality time with their respective trainers.

Alvarez, irrespective of who he is fighting, gives it all during the training, to remain in perfect shape for the bout.

"My preparation never changes. I always train at 100% because sometimes the one you think will do the least is the one who does the most. So I'm always training at 100% and I'm ready to get into the ring and give the best of myself no matter who it is," NBC quoted Alvarez as saying.

The Brit boxer has stepped up two divisions for the mega fight, and Alvarez is said to be a huge favourite for the fight. Khan will want to make sure that Alvarez does not connect his punches, which could hurt the British boxer's chances of winning the title, if any. However, Khan might want to take the Mexican for a full 12 round fight, and hope to emerge victorious via points.

The match is special for both the boxers, as the winner is set to battle it out against one of the biggest names in world boxing, Gennagy Golovkin.

It is no rocket science that boxing fans want Alvarez vs Golovkin bout soon.
