Chinese smartphone-maker Oppo has launched two new camera-centric handsets, dubbed F1 and F1 Plus, in India.

The key aspect of the Oppo F1 series device is the front-camera. It boasts a feature-rich 8MP camera f/2.0 aperture, ¼-inch sensor, Beautify v3.0 tool and also comes with special software to brighten display to bring out a flash-like effect while taking a selfie, similar to top-end Apple iPhone 6S series.

On the back, they come packed with a 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and single-LED flash.

Oppo F1 Plus features almost the same hardware. A key difference between the two is the F1 Plus features a bigger 5.5-inch full-HD display and 4GB RAM, whereas the F1 sports a smaller 5.0-inch HD screen and 3GB RAM.

The rest of the features are the same for both devices. They come with a full-metal body, Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, Snapdragon 616 Octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage and a 2,500mAh cell.

Oppo has revealed the F1 Plus boasts a more sophisticated front-camera than F1, but for reasons unknown, it did not reveal whether the F1 Plus will have an 8MP snapper with better imaging processor or a higher MP count. The company also did not disclose the battery details of the F 1 Plus. Stay tuned for more updates.

Oppo F1 and F1 Plus price and availability details:

The company has confirmed that the new Oppo F1 and F1 Plus will cost Rs 15,990 and Rs 26,990, respectively. The F1 is expected to hit the stores in India next week on 4 February, and the latter will be made available in April.
