The details of a shocking incident that occurred in Udupi (Shirva) surfaced on Wednesday. Four men were arrested for sexually assaulting a calf on Sunday. The one-and-a-half-year-old calf was used for sexual gratification by these men near the Labour colony in Majoor Village, Padoor (Karnataka), according to daijiworld.com.

Narayana Kulal, the owner of the cow, had tied it near the house and left it to feed on fodder. But sometime later, the calf was missing. Kulal searched for it everywhere and finally found the calf in a nearby forest and noticed some blood on the animal, IBC World News reported.

Kulal got hold of one of the suspects, who was walking around that area with an alcohol bottle. After a while, locals gathered at the spot and soon realised the gravity of the situation. They succeeded in finding the other three suspects too.

Shirva police rushed to the spot and inspector Ashok P and other cops tried to pacify the infuriated villagers. The locals were shocked by this heinous act. The police arrested the suspects with the help of the Labour Colony manager.

The calf was examined by assistant director of animal husbandry department, Srikanth Phadke and Shirva veterinary doctor, Arun Kumar Hegde. They revealed that the animal had indeed been sexually assaulted.

The locals have demanded strict action against the suspects.
