Business Women's Day is observed on 22 September, 2015, to celebrate the contribution of women in the business world and to focus on ways to treat women equally. It is on this day that Hilary A Bufton Junior founded the American Business Women's Association in 1949.

While a number of events, including seminars and meetings are held in the US on this day, we draw a list of Hollywood celebrities who have come a long way to become successful businesswomen.

Jessica Alba

We couldn't think of any other name to start off the list with. The 34-year-old Hollywood actress-turned-businesswoman is a perfect example of a celebrity, who has come a long way to become a successful businesswoman. Jessica Alba co-founded The Honest Company in 2012 and today, the business has an estimated value of $1 billion, and she holds about 20% stake in the company. Clearly, she has now made it to the list of America's Richest Self-Made Women. Jessica was inspired to launch The Honest Company when she was expecting her first child with husband Cash Warren. Diapers, wipes, teethers and more, the actresses company is into making and providing safe and healthy products for newborns and infants.

Halle Berry

The Oscar-winning actress is the newest addition to the list of celebrities to start a business. She launched a line of lingerie, Scandale Paris, last year at Target stores. Berry came across this brand during one of her trips to France and found that it was struggling to do business there. Then, the actress decided to buy the company. She is involved with the design of the lingerie and chooses the fabrics. In fact, she wants to add bathing suits and nightgowns to the line. It has been reported that Scandale Paris will be sold in Canada, Asia and more European countries.

Beyonce

Well, if you know Bey just for her voice, looks and as Jay Z's wife, then here's a piece of information. The Destiny's Child singer has come a long way and has a stronghold in the world of business too. Beyonce introduced her own clothing line, House of Dereon, along with her mother as the stylist and later expanded the line by introducing the junior Dereon with her sister.

Gwen Stefani

The lead vocalist of rock band No Doubt, Stefani launched her career as a businesswoman in 2003 by launching her high-end fashion line L.A.M.B. The brand manufactures accessories and products, including shoes, bags, jewellery, fragrances and watches -- all inspired from Asian styles. "The Voice" judge also came out with a less expensive Japanese-inspired line, Harajuku Lovers Collection.

Sandra Bullock

Although on a small scale, but this actress is slowly making it big in the business world. Sandra runs her own production company, Fortis Films. She owns a moderately-priced restaurant Bess Bistro and bakery/delicatessen/flower shop down the street named Walton's Fancy and Staple in Austin, Texas.

Heidi Klum

This multi-talented German-American actress became the first model from Germany to earn the title of Victoria's Secret Angel. But today, Klum is a successful fashion designer and a businesswoman as well. Klum designs clothes for both men and women and also designs jewellery for a company named Mouawad and footwear for Birkenstock. Apart from these, she has her own perfume line with two fragrances, Heidi Klum and Me, and has created a makeup collection for Victoria's Secret.

Jessica Simpson

Here's yet another celebrity who runs her own fashion line successfully. The lifestyle collection features shoes, handbags, dresses and perfumes among other fashion accessories.

Victoria Beckham

Popularly known as the Posh Spice from the 90s' girls band Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham became a model in 2000 when she walked the ramp for Maria Grachvogel at London Fashion Week and for Roberto Cavalli at Milan Fashion Week in 2006. She then went on to become the brand ambassador for brands such as Dolce and Gabbana and Rocawear. Victoria married David Beckham and the two became the most stylish couple and Vic. continued to follow her passion, fashion designing.

She designed her first clothing line as a guest editor for Rock & Republic and performed the role of 'fashion editor' to style close friend Katie Holmes for her Harper's Bazaar's fashion shoot in 2006. This talented entrepreneur was recently named the top entrepreneur in the UK. She launched her fashion line in 2008 and opened her first store to showcase her collection in September 2014. The store is spread over three floors in Dover Street, London.

Drew Barrymore

You may relate to her only through her films like "The Wedding Singer", "50 First Dates" and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle", but interestingly, this actress is also a screenwriter, film director, producer and founder of a production company, Film Flowers. This company has movies such as "Charlie's Angels", "He's Just Not That Into You" and "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" to its credit. She is also the spokesperson and face for CoverGirl Cosmetics and the Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nations World Food Programme.

Cameron Diaz

The "There's Something About Mary" actress made it to this list as she has published "The Body Book", a health and fitness manual, and is now expanding her business endeavours. Apart from this, she is also working with Tag Heuer as an ambassador to support an international campaign that raises awareness for UN Women's gender equality.

Fergie

This very popular Black Eyed Peas crooner is more than just a sexy singer. The sizzling hot Grammy winner has launched her own shoe line. The Fergie Shoes features a collection catering to all styles such as formal, casual and party.
