Bungo stray dogs episode 10 brought the anime adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe.Facebook/Bungo stray dogs

Bungo stray dogs, with its artistic storyline, includes some of the most famous writers from Japanese and western literature. Since The Guild's debut, fans have been thrown off guard and felt thrilled to see their favourite writers come up as anime characters. Episode 10 has finally brought the anime adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe. His powers are strong enough to suck his victims into a novel, who cannot come back unless they solve the case in the novel.

Poe has a bone to pick with Rampo, and hence traps him and Yosano in a murder mystery novel that's almost impossible to solve. After a series of events, Rampo finally discovers the truth for setting him and Yosano free. Things take a turn for the worst after Rampo realises that he has no powers and he would come out as a normal person after all this time. Fans have to agree, it's amazing that his deductive abilities are so strong, and he can walk on par with characters gifted with power.

Poe's portrayal is, however, a little odd. He looks nothing like his real self and more like a cheap version of Dazai. Also, he is driven by jealousy for Rampo and still loses to him in the end. For fans of Poe, who consider him the ultimate genius, this adaptation of him is not a satisfying one.

The second half of this episode shows Dazai and his comrades plotting ways to infiltrate and destroy the Moby Dick, using the secret information Rampo attained by defeating Poe. The plan is set and Atsushi is sent to infiltrate it. and as always, Akutagawa appears to get in the way of the Weretiger.

The most interesting part of this episode is when Dazai — with his charming devilish smile — hints at planning the whole incident that caught Ango and him in a car accident, severely injuring Ango. Although his motive for this action is kept as suspense, it tactfully implies the genius, i.e., Osamu Dazai.

By the end of the episode, the story takes a turn for the worst, with the Guild's plan being way ahead of the Agency's and with Akutagawa on board. Will Atsushi be able to stop the Moby Dick that is now entirely a bomb and defeat Akutagawa as well? Or will Akutagawa and Atsushi call a truce and work together to stop the Moby Dick from exploding and save their home city?
