Akhilesh Yadav claims BSP transferred votes to BJP Pictured: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh YadavIANS

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday took a swing at Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati saying that she transferred votes to Bharatiya Janata Party during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Yadav also announced that the state government would implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, which affects around 22 lakh employees.

"BSP used to transfer its votes to BJP. This is why it got zero seats, while BJP won the majority of seats in the 2014 parliamentary polls. I have data of booths that show votes (of BSP) were transferred to BJP. I can prove it," Yadav claimed.

During the 2014 general elections, BJP had won 71 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP. Yadav's Samajwadi Party won five, while Bahujan Samaj Party got none. The BSP had won 20 seats in 2009.

Yadav was also asked about Mayawati's claim that Lucknow Metro and Agra Expressway were initiatives of her government. "Nobody stopped her from rolling out these schemes. She may claim that she had plans to launch the smartphone scheme. She should tell us if she can press a single button or has knowledge of smartphones," he said.

SP recently fielded relatives of BSP members for the elections. Sigbatullah Ansari, brother of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, and BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui's brother Hasnuddin have been named by the party for the upcoming elections.

Yadav also feels that a SP-Congress tie-up in UP would give them over 300 seats. Congress is reportedly open for a pre-poll tie-up.
