India's Sensex on Friday gained 0.14 percent, while the Nifty rose 0.13 percent ahead of budget on 10 July. BSE Metal, Capital Goods, Auto and Power dipped by 135 points, 124 points, 13.22 points and 5.03 points respectively at 2:50 pm.

BSE Sensex opened higher at 25844.80 points with surge of 21.05 points and NSE Nifty opened at 9:15 am recording 7722.80 points with an increase of 8 points during early trade.

On Thursday, BSE ended lower by 0.07 points at 25823.75 points, whereas, NSE also lost by 0.13 percent settling at 7714.80 points amid BSE network outage for three hours.

Besides, the Indian currency gained 9 paise during early trade at 59.64 per dollar, but regained its Thursday's closing price of around 59.73 a dollar at 10:30 am on Friday.

 NSE top gainers were Gufic Biosciences, Vardhman Polytex Ltd, Liberty Shoes, Jindal Cortex and Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd, whereas, top losers were Visesh Infotecnics, Pan India Corp, Raj Rayon Industries, REI Six Ten Retail and Green Fire Agri Commodities Limited. However positions of the companies changed frequently during the trading hours.

According to Reuters, foreign investors bought shares worth ₹9.51 billion on Thursday. NSE index futures traded on the Singapore Exchange rose 0.19 percent, while the MSCI-Asia Pacific excluding Japan index surged 0.26 percent.

Moreover, on Friday the Reserve Bank of India permitted Bharti Airtel to raise foreign investments to 74 percent.  The cost of each share of Airtel was recorded ₹339.65.

Among healthcare stocks, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories stock rose by ₹28.80 at ₹2667.10. In health sector, 6 of 17 stocks depreciated during trading hours.

Among blue chips HDFC and L&T fell by 0.6 percent and 0.5 percent respectively.

Global Markets:

At 2:30 pm on Friday, Japan's Nikkei surged 88.84 points at 15437.13 points and Hong Kong based Hang Seng rose 14.92 points at 15437.13 points during trading hours on Friday.

In the meantime, among four US based markets; Dow, S&P 500, NASDAQ and TR US Index rose by 92.02 points, 10.82 points, 28.19 points and 0.97 points respectively, whereas,  European stocks declined during trading.

At 2:45 pm, FTSE 100 recorded 6859.22 points with a loss of 5.99 points and DAX recorded 10020.95 points with a decline of 8.48 points. While, CAC 40 and TR Europe fell by 6.30 points and 0.55 points at 4483.58 points and 181.94 points respectively.
