Indian shuttler PV Sindhu and wrestler Sakshi Malik have become the darling of the nation after winning silver and bronze medal, respectively, in Rio 2016 Olympics. The two athletes received grand welcome and bagged headlines in India after showered with cash prizes and gifts galore.

However, a well-known British journalist, Piers Morgan, is surprised with the celebration which has taken place in India after the athletes' return. Streets have been packed with people, waiting to get a glimpse of them. Morgan went to the extent of shaming India on micro blogging site Twitter, stating that a "Country with 1.2 billion people wildly celebrates 2 losing medals. How embarrassing is that?"

This tweet did not go well with the Indian Twitter users, who began to take a dig at the journalist for his remarks. Every minute, a number of tweets emerged attacking Morgan for his statement, and the Britisher soon began to trend on Twitter.

Morgan invited more wrath upon himself after posting another tweet, which read: "Indian Twitter definitely wins Gold at trolling. If only their athletes were as skilled." Celebrities from India also joined in the act, and ridiculed Morgan.
