There were concerns about the possibility of the mega fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, as many felt that Mayweather was not interested in Pacquiao, owing to his fear of losing his unbeaten record.

But, that speculation has been broken down a little bit with a recent video that Mayweather posted on his Instagram account, which shows the American wants the fight.

The video is of his face to face meeting with Pacquiao, which was reportedly said to have taken place last week in a hotel suite after an NBA game.

"I congratulate him on his career," Mayweather says in the video.

"He had a wonderful career and I had a wonderful career, but before we leave the sport, of course we have to make this fight happen."

Mayweather's post on the social networking site makes one believe that both the fighters are ready to go head on for the mega bout, but it does pose the question: Why has the fight not been shown the green light?

Though all personal deals between the boxers seem to have been finalised along with the 60-40 split in favour of the American, it is the network deals, which seems to have been creating an obstacle for the mega event.

Pacquiao is contracted with HBO and Mayweather with CBS owned Showtime.

The main issue remains to be the terms for the delayed broadcast of the joint pay-per-view between the two networks.

If the deal is not finalised soon enough, one will not be surprised if the bout lies cancelled.

Showtime boss, Stephen Espinoza has some alternate plans if the mega bout fails with either Amir Khan or Miguel Cotto fighting the American on May 2.

But, this is not what the boxing world wants.

As far as their careers are concerned, Mayweather has been one of the best boxers that the world has seen in recent times, which can be established by the fact that the American has not lost a single bout in his professional career with 47 wins -- 26 of those wins have come through knock outs.

Though, many consider Pacquiao as the favourite if the bout takes place, the boxer has an inferior record to the American as he has won 57 of his bouts and lost 5 times in his professional career.

Many see him as a serious challenger to the American.

Pacquiao has been vocal about his eagerness to face Mayweather. A few weeks ago, he also stated that Mayweather is afraid of him.

But Mayweather's video does not suggest so and is determined to give it a shot.
