Vijender Singh has had an incredible start to his pro boxing career as he is yet to taste defeat. Vijender has been impressive in all his eight fights so far, winning them with ease. He has, however, not fought against the elite of world boxing. British boxer Amir Khan, one of the best in the sport, is nevertheless ready for a bout against Vijender Singh.

Khan, along with Bill Dosanjh, the promoter of Super Fight League (SFL) MMA in India, has decided to launch the Super Boxing League in India. And he is open to the idea of fighting Indian superstar Vijender to promote the Super Boxing League.

"I don't mind if Vijender wants it, we want to promote SBL. This league we are bringing to India and this is my league basically, lets us do it. Every fight is serious for me, whenever you step in the boxing ring, it is war. There is no exhibition fight ever in boxing," Boxing Scene quoted Khan as saying.

There are some similarities in both their boxing careers. Khan jumped into the pro boxing circuit only after an impressive amateur record, including the silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. He fought his first pro boxing fight in 2005.

Similarly, Vijender, who made his pro boxing debut in 2015, was a successful boxer at the amateur level. Besides winning the bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he also won medals at various other world events, like the World Championships, Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games.

Khan also knows about Vijender's rise in pro boxing, and the British boxer says the big fight, if it materialises, will not be an easy one.

"I have won three world titles in my career, an Olympic medal and 37 fights. Vijender has a good amateur background and is experienced. He has risen in the professional ranking quite quickly and is undergoing good quality training in England. Every fight is hard, it won't be easy. This is boxing, one punch can change things. It will be a big fight. I believe I am a better fighter. But you never know anything can happen. You can't put your money on one person," Khan said.

However, one understands that the boxer, if given a choice, will obviously fight Manny Pacquiao. Khan has always spoken openly about his interest in fighting against the Filipino. They were supposed to face off in UAE this year, but unfortunately, it did not materialise, and Khan blames Pacquaio for that.

"My management team in the US is trying to make right moves. I will take time off in Ramadan. I am in the top three in the world anyway, I want to fight boxers in the top 10. Vijender is learning, my fight may be in November-December so there is still lot of time," Khan said.

"The Pacquiao fight could still happen. It wasn't me who pulled out, he pulled out and fought an easy fight in Australia, probably for less money whereas the money on the table against me was a lot more. We are friends but if that happens, we have to put friendship aside."
