Dhanush-starrer Thodari has come out with flying colours at the Chennai box office. The Tamil movie has made a fantastic collection and beaten Vijay Sethupathi's Aandavan Kattalai in the first weekend.

Thodari, which was released on Thursday, September 22, has minted Rs 1.73 crore from 312 shows in its first weekend, reports Behindwoods. Aandavan Kattalai hit the screens a day later and earned Rs 66.52 lakh from 204 shows.

However, the Dhanush-starrer has opened to mixed reviews, while Vijay Sethupathi's film has received highly positive comments. It has to be seen how both the films will perform in the weekdays.

Chiyaan Vikram's Iru Mugan has raked in Rs 19.25 lakh from 117 shows. The total collection of the movie stands at Rs 5.67 crore at the end of its third weekend at the Chennai box office. The makers had earlier predicted that the movie would earn over Rs 8 crore, and looking at the current trend it is unlikely to reach the mark.

Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Pink has collected Rs 11.07 lakh from 54 shows to take its total tally to Rs 57.94 lakh by the end of its second weekend in Chennai. Nani's Telugu flick Majnu has raked in Rs 10.34 lakh from 60 shows in the three-day first weekend.

Hollywood film The Magnificent Seven has opened to a decent response as it collected Rs 9.22 lakh from 54 shows. Trisha Krishnan's Nayaki has not lived up to expectations as it earned Rs 38.47 lakh at the end of its second weekend.
