Children's movie "Pasanga" has emerged victorious at the Chennai box office. In its second weekend, the collection picked up pace and has beaten movies like "Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam", Hindi movies "Bajirao Mastani", "Dilwale", etc.

After earning Rs 60.37 lakh in the first weekend, "Pasanga 2" went on to add Rs 90+ lakh in the next seven days to take its 11-day collection to Rs 1.50 crore from 165 shows in the last weekend in the capital city of Tamil Nadu. It occupied the numero uno position at the Chennai box office, reports Behindwoods.

Jayam Ravi's "Bhooloham", which was in the top postion in the previous week, has been pushed down to the second position. The movie, which made a business of Rs 1.04 crore, could only make Rs 50+ lakh to take its 11-day tally to Rs 2.06 crore. From 177 shows in the first weekend, it was reduced to 150 shows in the second weekend.

Gitanjali Selvaraghavan's debut movie "Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam" is in the third position despite getting fairly positive reviews from the audience in Chennai. It made a business of Rs 22.10 lakh from 81 shows. However, it has to be seen how the movie will perform in the coming days in order to make profits.

Bollywood movie "Bajirao Mastani" has turned out to be a hit in Chennai. In its third weekend, the Ranveer Singh starrer made Rs 17.18 lakh from 48 shows. The total collection of the movie now stands at Rs 1.11 crore.

Surprisingly, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's movie "Dilwale", which got thunderous opening, has not performed to its expectations. It has minted Rs 3.59 lakh from 27 shows in its third weekend to take its total tally to Rs 1.07 crore in Chennai.

Dhanush's "Thanga Magan" also did not perform well as it could only earn Rs 3.51 crore. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 2.96 crore.
