Varun Dawan starrer "Main Tera Hero" (MTH) accumulated around ₹22 crore from the opening weekend, which is reasonably good as it was affected by T20 matches on Friday and Sunday.

The first day morning and afternoon business was low since it was a working day, and evening and night shows were affected due to T20 semi-final match.

The film witnessed jump of around 30 percent on Saturday and fetched in good numbers. But on Sunday it was affected again due to the T20 World Cup final match between India and Sri Lanka.

But Sunday's income was not as low as Friday's earnings. It raked in 30 percent more on its third day compared to the opening day.

The three-day breakup of the film according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh is: Friday ₹6.60 crore, Saturday ₹8.03 crore and Sunday ₹8.10 crore. The opening weekend total of the film stands at ₹22.73 crore.

The positive word of mouth amongst the audience will help the film have a steady performance during weekdays. The other flick "Jal" released along with David Dhawan's film has failed to generate buzz at the box office. So it's the romantic, comedy and action entertainer "MTH" that will dominate the market.

The film will be a profitable venture for the makers as the box office run is decent. Also the makers of the film have earned a large part of the production cost through the satellite and audio rights, Bollywood Hungama reports.

Meanwhile, the opening weekend earning of "MTH" is lower than Balaji Telefilms last venture "Ragini MMS 2" starring Sunny Leone. The horror film "Ragini MMS 2" was also affected by cricket matches but it raked in more than Varun's film.

The opening weekend total of "Ragini MMS 2" is ₹24.5 crore and "Main Tera Hero" is ₹73 crore.

The film features Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D'Cruz in the female lead roles and Anupam Kher, Arunoday Singh, Raju Kher and Rajpal Yadav in supporting roles.
