"Heropanti" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" have sailed past the second weekend with flying numbers at the box offices in India. But the new releases "Citylights" and "Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi" had a poor box office performance.

"Heropanti"

Though there were two new releases on Friday, "Heropanti" remained unaffected with it. The film starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon had a strong weekend and accumulated ₹44.20 crore.

The film starring newcomers was made on a budget of ₹25 crore and soon it will earn double the production cost by hitting half century mark.

"#Heropanti [Week 2] Fri 2.07 cr, Sat 2.59 cr, Sun 3.63 cr. Total: ₹ 44.20 cr nett. Heading towards ₹ 50 cr mark. India biz. SMASH HIT," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"Heropanti" gained at the box office due to the loss of new releases. The film will have a decent second week, but its dream run would get affected once Akshay Kumar starter "Holiday – A Soldier is Never Off Duty" is released.

"Citylights" and "Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi"

"Citylights" starring Rajkumar Rao and Patralekha had pulled up at the box office after having a tepid start. Occupancy on opening day was very low, but due to word of mouth and positive reviews, the film showed growth on Saturday and Sunday.

"#Citylights Fri 70 lacs, Sat 1.32 cr, Sun 1.55 cr. Total: ₹ 3.57 cr nett. India biz," Adarsh tweeted.

However, the second film "Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi" released on same day as "Citylights" turned out to be a disaster at the box office. The response to the film is so dull that it might get out of theaters before even finishing its first week.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past"

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" starring Hugh Jackman had a strong second weekend, taking its overall total to ₹33.80 crore.

The reviews and word of mouth from audiences is so strong that it maintained its hold at the box office in India.

"#XMen Days Of Future Past [Week 2] Fri 1.60 cr, Sat 2.70 cr, Sun 2.90 cr. Total: ₹ 7.20 cr. Grand total: ₹ 33.80 cr nett. ROCK-STEADY," Adarsh tweeted.
