Tiger Shroff-Kriti Sanon's debut film "Heropanti" is doing good business at the Indian, as well as overseas, box office.

The romantic action drama opened well on the first day of its release by minting ₹6.63 crore in India. The film surpassed the opening day collections of Varun Dhawan's "Main Tera Hero, which raked in ₹6.60 crore.

"Heropanti" continued its good run on the second day and registered good collections. Though the film's collections dropped slightly on the second day, it managed to hold well and fetch over ₹6 crore. According to film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, "Heropanti" earned ₹6.42 crore on Saturday (24 May) taking its two-day collections to ₹13.05 crore (nett).

"#Heropanti Fri ₹ 6.63 cr, Sat 6.42 cr. Total: ₹ 13.05 nett. India biz.Biz expected to jump today [Sun]," Adarsh tweeted.

If the Tiger Shroff starrer manages to collect ₹7 crore, then the film will cross the ₹20-crore mark in its opening weekend. It will end up surpassing the first weekend collections of biggies such as "Highway" (₹13.97 crore) and "Hasee Toh Phasee" (₹18.40 crore). It will also be interesting to see if "Heropanti" manages to earn more than "Ragini MMS-2" (₹24.5 crore) and "Main Tera Hero" (₹22.73 crore) opening weekend figures.

The action entertainer, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, released in more than 2,000 screens on 23 May. The film clashed with Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiiyaan," but managed to perform better than the 3D animated big budget entertainer. While the Tamil version of "Kochadaiiyaan" took off on a good note, the Hindi version reportedly had a poor start. "Heropanti" did better business than "Kochadaiiyaan," which has received mixed reviews from critics.

The Tiger Shroff starrer has also opened well in overseas markets. The film took a great start in UAE-GCC areas, where Indian films have a huge market. It earned more than ₹1 crore in two days (including Thursday previews) at the UAE-GCC box office. "#Heropanti has a super start in UAE+GCC. Thu AED 261,000, Fri AED 420,000. Total: AED 681,000 [₹ 1.08 cr]," Adarsh tweeted.

The film is expected to continue its successful run and the end the first weekend on a good note.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Hollywood film X-Men: Days of Future Past has also opened to good response in India

The film witnessed growth in its collections on Saturday (24 May) and minted more than ₹5 crore. Its 3-day collections, including the Thursday previews, stand at ₹10.50 crore nett.

"#XMen Days Of Future Past witnesses good growth on Sat. Thu previews 60 lacs, Fri 4.50 cr, Sat 5.40 cr. Total: ₹ 10.50 cr nett, Adarsh tweeted.

The superhero film, directed by Bryan Singer, received positive reviews from the critics as well as from the audience. It took a thunderous opening in Tamil Nadu and has also performed well in other states.
