Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and John Abraham-starrer action adventure film "Dishoom" completed its first-week run by scoring a half century at the domestic box office. The action-adventure drama is now Bollywood's ninth biggest grosser of 2016 in India.

The Varun-John starrer opened on a good note with a box office collection of Rs. 11.05 crore and continued its streak of success over the weekend, but the collection started to fall from its fourth day onwards. The film minted Rs. 37.32 crore in the first three days and Rs. 16.02 crore in the next four days.

The first-week box office collection of "Dishoom" stands at Rs. 53.34 crore. "Dishoom" also shattered the lifetime box office collection records of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor's "Ki and Ka" with its first-week income. "Ki and Ka" had made Rs. 52.31 crore.

"Dishoom" team celebrates success

The good run at the ticker counters made the film a success at the box office. The producer of the film, Sajid Nadiadwala, along with Nandu Ahuja from Eros International, director Rohit and lead members of the cast, including John, Varun and Jacqueline, celebrated the success of "Dishoom" with media on Wednesday in Mumbai.

Rohit's directorial venture opened in theatres on July 29 with mixed reviews from critics, but the audience loved the film. Starring John, Varun and Jacqueline, the movie also features Akshaye Khanna in an important role while Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Nargis Fakhri and Saqib Saleem have done cameos.
