Action and crime thriller "Aurangzeb" starring Arjun Kapoor and Sasha Agha had finished its first week at the Indian box office on a low note.

Although, the film has recovered the production cost, the box office performance was below the mark. The hardcore action drama had earned ₹19.69 crore in its first week.

The first weekday wise breakup of the film is: Friday ₹3.92 crore, Saturday ₹3.96 crore, Sunday ₹4.98 crore, Monday ₹2.12 crore, Tuesday ₹1.73 crore, Wednesday ₹1.59 crore and Thursday 1.39 crore.

Considering the star cast, trade analysts expected the film's business to pick up during the weekend and weekdays. The opening weekend collections were better but its turnout was not as good as expected.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film did not witness major growth over the weekend and remained low on weekdays. Keeping in mind its genre, the Atul Sabharwal-directed film was expected to fare well from single screens. But surprisingly, the film's business was low at single screens as well as at multiplexes.

The first week collection collections of zombie comedy "Go Goa Gone" were pretty much the same as that of "Aurangzeb". "Go Goa Gone" starring Saif Ali Khan had minted ₹19.92 crores in India in the first week.

The lifetime collections of both flicks are also expected to fall in the same range.

"Shootout at Wadala" which falls in the same genre as "Aurangzeb" had raked in decent collections at the box office. The gangster film directed by Sanjay Gupta earned ₹3.16 crores in its third week.

The film featuring John Abraham, Kangna Ranaut, Anil Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, and Sonu Sood had collected a total of ₹60.18 crore after the third week. The film has joined the list of other hit films at the box office.
