Last week's two big releases - "Shuddh Desi Romance" and "Zanjeer", have finished their first week of theatrical run in India. While one turned out to be a hit film, the second film was a complete disaster.

Both films belong to different genre and there was a big difference between their screen counts.

"Zanjeer" was initially was released in more than 2,000 screens, but its screen count declined in the week due to poor response from audiences. "Shuddh Desi Romance" was released in just 1,000 screens.

"Shuddh Desi Romance" starring Parineeti Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput and Vaani Kapoor has become a hit film, raking in ₹36.58 crore in its first week.

"Shuddh Desi Romance" is Sushant Singh and Parineeti's second hit film as lead actors.

On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra-Ram Charan Teja starrer "Zanjeer" turned out to be a disaster at the box office. In its first week, the film made a total business of around ₹15.19 crore.
