The film and television industry has lost several legends in the year 2015. Adding to the list, veteran actress Sadhana Shivdasani passed away on the day of Christmas. Last year, the death of popular actors like Deven Varma and Sadashiv Amrapurkar was a great loss for Hindi cinema.

Below are few names of the Bollywood actors who passed away this year:

Sadhana Shivdasani

Veteran Bollywood actress Sadhana Shivdasani passed away at Hinduja hospital in Mumbai on 25 December. She was 74. The "Mera Saaya" actress was not well for a long time. She was detected with tumour last year and underwent surgery for the same.

She is known for her acts in "Mur mur ke na dekh mur mur ke" song from "Shree 420" movie, "Jhumka Gira Re" from "Mera Saaya", "Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar Ke Dil Abhi Bhara Nahi" from "Hum Dono" and "Lag Ja Gale" song from "Woh Jo Hasina" among others. The actress is known till date for her hairstyle, which is popular as 'Sadhana cut.'

Ashraf-Ul-Haq

Ashraf-ul-Haq, known for his roles in "Fukrey" and "Traffic Signal", passed away at the age of 45 on 17 February this year. He was suffering from a bone marrow dis-function.

He is popular for his role in movies like "Company", "Jungle", "Ravan", "Deewar", "Black Friday" and many others. He had played the role of a drunkard in the movie "Fukrey".

Sanjit Bedi

TV actor Sanjit Bedi, who rose to fame with his on-screen character of Dr.Omi on popular TV show "Sanjeevani", passed away on 23 June this year. He was reportedly said to be suffering from brain virus for a long time and was in coma.

Besides "Sanjeevani", Sanjit also played important roles in shows like "Kasauti Zindagii Kay", "Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka", "Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman" and "Jaane Kya Baat Hui" among others. The young actor is survived by his wife.

Saeed Jaffrey

Veteran Bollywood actor Saeed Jaffery, who appeared in several British and Indian movies, died on 14 November at the age of 86. Saeed is known for his roles in the movies like "Gandhi" (1982), "Masoom" (1982), "Shatranj Ke Khiladi" (1977), "Henna" (1991) "Ram Teri Ganga Maili" (1985), "Chashme-baddoor" (1981), "Kisise Na Kehna", "Judaai" (1997), "Ajooba" (1991) among many others.

Mohan Bhandari

Veteran actor Mohan Bhandari, who appeared on television shows during the 80s and 90s, died on 24 September this year after a long battle with brain tumor. Mohan is known for his appearance on television show "Khandaan" on Doordarshan, which also featured Neena Gupta, and "Raja Aur Rancho".

He also appeared in shows like "Karz", "Parampara", "Jeevan Mrityu", "Pathjhad", "Gumraah", "Mile Sur Mera Tumhara" and "Saat Phere - Saloni Ka Safar".

Apart from television shows, he has also appeared in movies, including "Yalgaar" and Aamir Khan starrer "Mangal Pandey-The Rising".

Sudha Shivpuri

Veteran TV actress Sudha Shivpuri, popular for her on-screen character Baa in "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" breathed her last on 20 May this year. It was reported that the 78-year-old passed away in her sleep.

She has acted in films like "Swami", "Insaaf Ka Tarazu", "Hamari Bahu Alka", "The Burning Train", "Sawan Ko Aane Do" and "Sun Meri Laila", among others.
